Most of you know I went on this 15 day adventure with Contiki, on their #Euhiglights trip. It would be an understatement to say that I had the time of my life.
So, I'm gonna take you through my journey . I'll be dividing this into three different posts so that it's not super long and boring.
We covered France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Austria while in transit.
For this particular post, I'm sharing all the details from my experience in France.
Contiki caters to 18-35 year olds and we were super excited to explore Europe with them. We chose the fast paced one because we wanted to cover as many different places in short span of time. This was my first multi-city trip and I was super excited for this one.
After some rigorous packing (or maybe overpacking :P), we arrived at the airport. While there, we ate some Indian food, with the thought that we won't get to eat Indian for the next fourteen days. And then, things went wrong when I lost my passport. We were deboarded and then we took another flight, exactly 24 hours later.
With a layover in Dubai, we finally arrived in Paris!
On our first day in The City of Light, we firstly visited the Arc De Triomphe, where I had some yummy ice cream. After this, we got to see the Eiffel Tower! It was every bit as beautiful as they say. To end the day on a good note, we ate some spaghetti and chocolate waffles.
On Day 2, we headed for Lyon and the French Revierra. We went to a little town outside of Paris, where we met our fellow Contiki members. We talked to them about our life in India and heard about their lives and stories, from all over the world. We visited the Chateau De Cruix, in the Beaujolais Wine Region, where we indulged in some fancy wine tasting. We stayed at the Contiki Chateau, which had a pool and an underground cave, which was the party destination at night.
On Day 3, Contiki arranged for a special trip to a French Perfumery, in French Rivierra. We played some coach Olympics on the way there, with our fellow Contiki members. At the perfumery, we saw perfume being made and being packaged, all by hand. I also discovered how difficult it is to live in France, being a vegetarian. Finally, we headed to the beach for sunset, which was a perfect end to a perfect day.
For our last day in France, we headed for the French town, Nice. We saw the entire city from it's highest point and that view was absolutely breathtaking. We had their famous Gelato and did some shopping too, obviously. Lastly, we were off to Monaco, where we got to see the Prince's Palace.
Sadly, this was the end of our stay in France. But not to fret, because we were headed to Italy soon!
By the way, if you don't know, I've posted all the vlogs already from this Contiki trip, you can check them out here:
