Hi everyone! Today I’ll be telling you about a place I visited a while back, a small city that I fell in love with - Pushkar!
The Westin Resort & Spa, Pushkar were kind enough to invite me to the resort for a few days, and it was the perfect place to just unwind. So, we’ll be telling you a little bit about the resort, because it’s a great place to go to for a weekend getaway...and there are going to be a lot of long weekends coming up now, right?
Let’s start with the basics! The journey to the resort is very convenient, and it’s short, 3 hour drive away from the Ajmer Railway Station. The drive itself will keep you busy with the gorgeous view of the Aravali range. Don’t forget to take your camera along!
The hotel has 98 rooms in total, and I stayed at the Luxury Villa. Since the hotel property is sprawling, there's a buggy to take you around, so you can explore the entire place at your convenince.
Coming to my room, the ambience was completely in sync with the wellness philosphy of the resort, and had comfortable, relaxed vibes. The villa had a courtyard and a private plunge pool, because you never know when you’ll need a swim! The outdoor pool of the spa is as gorgeous, and you’ll just have to see it to believe it. I spent so much of my time in at the pool, just taking in the beauty of everything.
And the pool reminds me of my favourite thing about the resort. You’ve probably guessed it - the floating breakfast! To be honest, this was one of the reasons I just didn’t want to get out of the pool! The hotel dining served us everything from fresh fruits to donuts, pancakes, sandwiches and waffles. It was such a unique experience for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Apart from this unique feature, the resort also has a restaurant called Panorama, which true to its name, overlooks the Aravalis, and what sight can be more perfect than this?
A tour of Pushkar was also arranged for us, forcing me to get out of the relaxed ambience of the resort to go and explore the beautiful city. Apart from the temples which it is famous for, the Pushkar markets are so colourful, and a heaven for jewellery enthusiasts. You’ll be able to roam around these markets all day, and discover something new each second. The highlight of the city tour for me was something much simpler though - the sun peaking through the mountains and eventually setting, giving way to the starry night.
The resort focuses a lot on health, wellness and rejuvenation through 7 spa treatments rooms. The treatments combine the ancient ohilosophies that India is so famous for, with their own unique technqiues to give you the best possible service.
If you're too tired to get out of the room, the spa will come to you! The resort offers an in room spa, which allows you to get the spa treatment of your choice in the comfort of your own room, and they promise that the experience will stay with you, long after you’re gone.
With the busy lifestyles we’ve gotten into, even having a second to ourselves seems too difficult. And I was so happy to have gotten a few days to get lost in this entirely new world, one that I wanted to go back to, as soon as I had left.
Let me know if you added this resort to your bucket list, and if you’d like to know a list of things to do in Pushkar for your next holiday!
